Program Details
Practices will be held on Wednesdays from April 8 – April 29. Practice spaces are limited, based on the number of volunteers available this season. Participation in practices is not required. Students may register and participate in track meets without attending practices.
Grades 1-6: 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Kindergarten: 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Program Costs
$7.00 for participants who already have a team shirt.
$30.00 for students who need a new team shirt.

Meet Dates
The program culminates in two exciting meets at West Potomac High School:
Grades K-2: Wednesday, May 6th
Grades 3-6: Monday, May 11
Events Include: 100m dash, 200m dash, 400m dash, 800m dash, 1600m dash
(grades 3-6), 5m hurdles (grades 5 and 6), 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay (grades
4-6), softball throw, standing broad jump (grades K-3), and running long jump
(grades 4-6). Children may participate in up to four total events; no more than
three of those can be running events.
Registration
Registration is required for all meet participants, whether or not they participate in practices. Registration is a two-step process. Within one week of submitting payment, you will receive an email with a link to the registration form. If you do not receive an email, please contact the coordinators at runningiselementary@gmail.com.
If you have a shirt from last year the registration cost is $7. Please select the option below which notes registration “without a shirt” and for shirt size select “no shirt”.
If you are registering a child that is new to “Running is Elementary” and will need a shirt please select the option to register “with a shirt” and select the appropriate size for your child. Registration with a shirt is $30.
If registering more than one child, please register them separately.
T-shirts come in the following sizes:
Youth XS, Youth Small, Youth Medium, Youth Large, Youth XL, Adult Small, Adult Medium, Adult Large, Adult XL, Adult 2XL, Adult 3XL, Adult 4XL
